New Book: All the Kings Fall

All good things come to an end. πŸ–€

The 3rd and final installment in the All the Dark Souls trilogy is set to be released in November, and I’m feeling all the feels! 😭

Did I cry while writing the ending? I sure did. πŸ™ƒ It wasn’t until I was down to those final scenes that I realized how much I’m going to miss these characters. Joss and how emotionally strong she is, Henrik’s undying loyalty, Aric and his snarky thoughts, and even Callan, who was such a dick in the beginning but for reasons that were understandable. At the end, I had a soft spot for him too. And, of course, Muriel. πŸ₯Ή

I’m also extremely proud of these books and the personal goals that were met. After the long spell of writing The Illusory, I wanted to write a trilogy in a year, which I did. πŸ™Œ All the Dark Souls was published on 11/01/2022, and the last book will be published on 11/28/23. I wanted the books to be quick reads, a contrast to both the book I had just published at the time and all the books I kept trying to read. While I love big books just like any bookworm, sometimes those shorter reads are perfect, given how busy life gets. One reviewer called All the Dark Souls a palette cleanser, and that’s exactly what I was aiming for. I also wanted them out quickly to make up for all the lost time I spent writing The Illusory, wanting more books out for readers before diving back into Skylar and Harlin’s world. I have two more books left in that saga, and they’re going to be heavy reads. Beware. πŸ’€

But despite the trilogy’s finale, with all great ends come new beginnings, and this NaNoWriMo season I’m dusting off an idea I’ve been playing with for the last few years. Its my oddball story about a cursed pirate trapped in the Caribbean, who has to venture to the fallen city of Venice in order to kill the sea witch who cursed him, all during the Napoleonic Wars and the dawn of the first airships. I couldn’t resist swinging in some Steampunk, especially since I’ve always wondered what the early years of Steampunk would have been like in the early 1800s before overtaking the Victorian Era.

And of course, in between NaNoWriMo-ing, I’ll be finishing up the hardcovers and starting the paperbacks for the All the Dark Souls trilogy, and then onto the audiobooks. Again.

With that said, stay safe and stay reading, peeps! ❣️
